Bike porn is a thing and it's coming to Cinema Detroit

Lately Detroiters have been a little bike-obsessed. From Slow Roll to Detroit Bikes to bike tours with Wheelhouse Detroit, urban biking has become part of our collective subconscious. 

As with any trend that reaches a fever pitch, bikes and biking have also been subjected to the underground, the subversive. And now bike porn is a thing. 

You read that right — bike porn. And it's coming to a theater near you. Tomorrow night Cinema Detroit will host a special evening of erotic bicycle shorts.

Erotic. Bike. Shorts. We can't make this stuff up. 

The festival, called The Bike Smut Film Festival, will show four films: Bike Smut 7 and Bike Smut 8, Porny Express, and Come Again. The festival didn't make it to Detroit last year, so they're playing two year's worth of material. You'll really be getting your money's worth. This is also a one-night-only engagement and the only stop the festival will make in Michigan. After this it'll move on to Kansas City, Memphis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison, and Minneapolis — other big hubs for bike porn, apparently. 

According to festival organizers, "Bike Smut is a collection of erotic bicycle shorts made by cyclists, radicals, and queers from all over the world  — various interpretations about what is great about sex and cycling!"

That should explain it, really. 

Cinema Detroit is located at 3420 Cass Ave., Detroit. The film fest begins at 8 p.m., cover is $9, but on a sliding scale. No one will miss out on bike porn due to lack of funds. Click here for more info.
