It has been 11 years since Ron Jeffries opened his Dexter microbrewery. Since then, it has expanded into a mini-chain of brewpubs and won fans worldwide. Notably, Jolly Pumpkin's Belgian-style ales can humble even native Belgian brews in international contests. Its innovative, upscale pub fare doesn't hurt either, such as truffled shoestring fries, walleye po'boys, and red chile tofu on country bread. This year, with its expansion into Midtown, Jolly Pumpkin will even be able to vie for Best of Wayne County.
