NOIZE BOYZ...

The second Curare Festival -- the brain child of Metro Times’ own freelance writer Mike Ross -- will be held at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit on Saturday, Sept. 29th. Described as “a music festival for the sonically adventurous,”  last spring’s debut event presented a cross-section of Detroit’s underground, noise, and psychedelic music scenes.  There will be ten bands -- seven local, three from out of town -- performing on two stages with a DJ, Lightshow Bob and a barbeque out back.  Handmade Detroit will be selling arty and crafty handmade goods. Doors open at 5 p.m. with music beginning at 6.  Admission is $8. The Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit, located at 5141 Rosa Parks Blvd., is an all- ages venue.
