VON BONDIES FINALLY FIND A HOME

by

The Von Bondies have finally found a home for their Love, Hate, and Then There's You album, originally recorded for Sire but lost in the ether when the band asked to break their contract with that Warner Bros.-based label. It was announced this morning that the band has signed with Majordomo Records, a division of reissues powerhouse Shout! Factory. Love, Hate, and Then There's You is now scheduled for release on February 3 of next year. Produced by Rick Parker (BRMC), Peter Katis (Interpol), Sean O'Keefe (Hawthorne Heights) and Butch Walker (Hot Hot Heat), Love, Hate, and Then There's You is the Von Bondies' first official album release since 2004's Pawn Shoppe Heart.

"At first, we were disappointed 'cause we thought we were signing to Factory Records, but this label has a lot of fresh ideas, a family vibe, potluck dinners and they statistically employ more Asians," the band's drummer Don Blum (who's of Pan-Asian descent) joked in the official press statement. "We would have signed a lot sooner," added singer -songwriter Jason Stollsteimer in the same release, "but it took us four years to find a pen."

A limited-edition 7-inch single, featuring the song "Pale Bride" and the non-album b-side "Falling In Love," will be released on November 18th. The band will also be leading up to the release with a new tour. They're scheduled to play the Crofoot in Pontiac on October 31st. In addition to Stollsteimer and Blum, the band is currently rounded out by Leann Banks on bass and Christy Hunt on guitar, just as they were when MT interviewed Stollsteimer last summer.
