Halloween’s here, and aside from burnt orange and yellows, cider mills, haunted houses, what’ve we got? Oh, yeah
our holiday-warming pals at Psychopathic Records.
Hence the news that Psychopathic’s house-producer guy Mike E. Clark’s dropping a new follow-up mixtape, Murder Mix Volume 2, on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Although Clark mostly works with Psychopathic artists — you’ll recall how he hit paydirt in every way imaginable with ICP — he’s a sweet guy known for other stuff; you know, like Kid Rock and George Clinton albums, and monster soundtracks such as Heavy Metal 2000 and Good Burger and so on.
Clarke’s mixtape will sport 16 tracks of mash-ups the label says are the producer’s “craziest musical concoctions” ever, made up of Psychopathic artists including ICP, Twiztid (featured here in this week's MT), Blaze and Boondox, but also guest spots from Oscar winners Three 6 Mafia and perennial pot heads Kottonmouth Kings.
If this ain’t enough to gratify seasonal Psychopathic needs, Clark’ll be performing at 2010’s Hallowicked at The Fillmore in Detroit on Halloween night, and will be hosting a meet and greet at Garden City’s great, indie-owned record store Rock of Ages on Nov. 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. --Tyler Kane
