Morris Mitchell began DJing on one turntable in 1971. Within a few years he began promoting and DJing parties as "True Disco" with Renaldo White and Ken Collier. Mr. Mitchell, who has been retired from DJing and promoting since 1998, is the only living member left of that original disco crew.

Yesterday was his first visit -- ever -- to the techno festival. This morning he told me that he got "An earful and an eyeful" and had a great time. "It was wild." He was seen dancing at all of the stages. He is a Detroit legend.
