City Slang: Lightning Love prepares new releases

Absolutely magnificent indie popsters Lightning Love will be releasing an EP early in the new year, and following it with an LP soon afterwards.

The follow up to the November Birthday album, the new EP will be called Girls Who Look Like Me and will be unleashed in January via Quite Scientific Records. A song from the EP, “Deadbeat”, is available for free here.

Anybody who has has been following City Slang and my MT work beforehand will likely know that I adore this band. Three talented musicians, good people, and a sackful of some of the best pop songs to have ever come out of this area. If that sounds like high praise, that’s because these peeps deserve it.

So go give yourself an early Christmas pressie and download that free track. Then go see the band live. Then buy the debut album, and save some Christmas money for the new EP. You can thank me later.
