Fancy testing your metal chops on stage in front of a rabid crowd? The Ritz in Warren is starting a monthly metal open mic night called Metal Shop on Thursday, March 8. The party starts at 8 p.m., and there is no cover.
The event is the brainchild of married metal-heads Dana Forrester (Crud / 60 Second Crush) and James Trunko (Mound Road Engine), who play bass and drums respectively and, according to a statement, “musicians and singers are invited to bring their axes, drum sticks and vocal cords for an electrifying night of HAIR RAISING metal jams.”
The press release continues, “Backline will be provided, along with cool prizes by Lucky Monkey Tattoo and other businesses supporting the Metal lifestyle.”
Musicians can sign up here. Metal Shop will then occur on the second Thursday of every month.Click here to join the City Slang Turntable community!!! Follow @City_Slang
