The launch of NASH ICON 93-1 HD 2 is further indication that country’s popularity is still growing.The necessity for such a station comes from fans getting tired of hearing songs about beer, trucks, dogs and Jesus by contemporary artists like Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert. ICON’s format touts songs about beer, trucks, dogs and Jesus by legendary artists, such as Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride.

That’s right; NASH ICON is the HD counterpart to the popular 93-1 spot on your radio dial. Cumulus Media has launched the complimentary station in over a dozen markets across the country.The new station will give country fans a much needed alternative to the current rotation, and perhaps expand the horizons of listeners who only know the newest offerings of the genre. After all, classic rock gets plenty of representation on the radio, it’s only logical that classic country gets the recognition it deserves.
