Theme for A Lame Duck

Let us all blast “I Don’t Like the Man I Am” by thee Headcoats (first line: “I’m lying through my teeth”) in honor of this latest lame-duck session of the Michigan legislature.

This session has many gifts! Chief among them is the concept that burning tires is a potential new “green” energy source, or the fact that gay people can maybe soon legally bleed to death if the attending physician finds their gayness “icky,” from a religious standpoint (one that apparently doesn’t include the encomium to “love thy neighbor as yourself”).

Billy Childish is a writer, musician and visual artist. He’s made more records, books and paintings than one could possibly count, and is one of the only people alive who can wear ridiculous facial hair and somehow not look ridiculous. Word is that former Detroit/Ann Arbor-ers Forest Juziuk and Brett Lyman are preparing a book of essays on and by Mr. Childish, set for release next year via the M’Lady’s label.
