On Tuesday, one of Detroit's very best bands, Mexican Knives, released their entire debut album straight to the Internet (bandcamp). They sent us one song to highlight, with a great description of it, below the link.

Zach Weedon explains "Beach Song" thusly

Background: I just wanted to write a posi song. A lot of our songs tend to on darker subjects so I just wanted to write a song that someone could listen to while laying on the beach or driving. I wrote the song and just handed a couple lyrics to Ruth and told her what I was thinking and she just ran with it. It's nice that it's coming out right when summer's starting.

You can stream the entire thing here, before buying it of course. I'm sure they'll have copies at their record release party tonight at PJs — get there early enough to see Duane the Brand New Dog, OK!.
