11 songs dedicated to the guy who did 153 on the freeway

Just another day in the Motor City. The news this morning reports that a motorist on northbound I-75 was ticketed after blasting by a statie at high speed. His car, a 2005 Dodge Magnum, was clocked at 153 miles per hour. That is, of course, more than twice the legal speed limit. How irresponsible! How dangerous!

And, also, how fucking awesome! It happened at 3 a.m., so, chances are the roadway was empty. Driving conditions last night were dry, and the fact that the driver didn't get the book thrown at him right away suggests that he was stone-cold sober. Just to be clear, we do not endorse unsafe driving. Follow the law. Click it or ticket. All that said, didn't you ever wonder what would happen if you put that pedal to the floor just to see how fast that thing can go?

Mostly, though, these are experiences we enjoy via the imagination. And here's a bunch of tunes that will help you feel that rush, even if you're just in your ergonomic office chair instead of the cockpit of a muscle car.
