Show preview: Derrick May with Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Chene Park tonight, August 14

The modern "pops" tradition of taking popular music and adapting it to a large orchestra gets a decidedly super modern and very Detroit treatment tonight, when the Detroit Symphony Orchestra adapts the music of Derrick May. Will it be worth it to go, even if all you want to do is hear them bust out an epic version of "Strings of Life"? The answer is heck, yes.
Derrick May and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will be performing together at Chene Park Amphitheatre tonight, Friday August 14, 2015, at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available.
