We freaked out last year
when Ann Arbor pop group Failed Flowers released their demo
, and we're freaking out again right now because their debut full length is now out and streaming online!
It seems appropriate for the album to be released on the first day of summer. We highly recommend you listen to it immediately, especially if you are a fan of C-86 style twee punk, but also if you are a fan of good music in general.
Failed Flowers features Fred Thomas (prolific artist and producer of many projects, including Saturday Looks Good to Me) and Anna Burch (Frontier Ruckus) both on guitar and vocals, Erin Davis (formerly of Bad Indians) on bass, and Miles Haney (Evenings) on drums. As Thomas is now based in Montreal for most of the year, the group doesn't have a chance to get together often — yet they somehow managed to record and release one of the best things we've heard in a long time.
The LP is out now in an edition of 400 copies released by Minneapolis label 25 Diamonds, and they're sure to sell out quickly so act fast if you want a physical copy! Information is on their Bandcamp page
