Today we are informed that Echo and the Bunnymen and Violent Femmes will perform on July 18 at the Meadow Brook Ampitheatre. Tickets will be $69.50, $47.50 and $35 in the pavilion and $25 on the lawn. They go on sale this Friday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at Palacenet.com, the Palace's physical ticket store, and of course at all Ticketmaster locations.

While the 1980s revival was a decade ago at least, it's hard to knock Echo and the Bunnymen, whose Crocodiles album was genius start to finish, or the Violent Femmes, because cute young people with partially shaved heads and upside down cross earrings always liked them (also that "Gone Daddy Gone" video is still one of the best things we ever saw on MTV when we were kids).
