Walk this way — better yet, run — because shit is getting tricky. It has been said that Run-DMC is solely responsible for the birth of modern hip-hop. Turning hip-hop street culture and sound on its head by mixing rock and rap, what Run-DMC has been most responsible for since its inception in 1981 is instigating a rebellion that has shaped generations of rappers and listeners alike.
The group will perform at Chene Park on Sunday, Aug. 27. Show begins at 8 p.m.; 2600 Atwater St., Detroit; 313-393-7128 cheneparkdetroit.com; Tickets start at $100.
