Three days, 21 bands and one hell of a good cause can only mean one thing — Mittenfest is back. For its 13th iteration, Mittenfest (formally S’mittenfest/Ypsituckyfest) returns with performances by seven local bands and artists per night to bid a proper adieu to the past 12 months. Once again, all proceeds go to support 826michigan, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Ypsilanti students ages 6 through 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and per usual, the lineup is pretty friggin’ great. Matt Jones and the Reconstruction, River Spirit, Dani Darling, Drinkard Sisters, Towner, Junglefowl, and Minihorse are among this year’s performers.

Mittenfest XIII will kick-off on Friday, Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Bon Sera Cafe; 200 W. Michigan Ave., Ypsilanti; 734-340-6335;; Tickets are available for a $10 donation per night.
