As a founding member of indie rock band War on Drugs, Philadelphia-bred Kurt Vile has been a prominent fixture of the indie music scene for more than a decade now with his offbeat singer-songwriter sensibilities. His seventh studio album (and first in three years), Bottle It In, features contributions from influencers Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and harpist Mary Lattimore. Vile will be backed by his faithful band the Violators and will be joined by the Sadies, with whom he collaborated on the track “It’s Easy (Like Walking)” in 2017.

Kurt Vile and the Violators will perform at 8 p.m. pm Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the Majestic Theatre; 4120 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-833-9700; majesticdetroit.com; Tickets are $27 - $30.
