When: Sun., Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. 2015
This race is in memory of Jaime DeHayes Luch (1980-2012) and Erica Gough Paul (1981-2011) who lost their battles with colon cancer at the ages of 31 and 29. The goal for the 2015 race is to raise $100,000 which will help fund the latest research programs at Karmanos Cancer Institute. The race name is an attempt to be both direct and humorous – to encourage others to talk about the need to be scoped. If caught early, colorectal cancer is 90% preventable. The Scope It Out 5K race series is one of the fastest growing in the country and currently in cities such as Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Denver, Madison, WI, Akron, OH, Salt Lake City, New York City, and Chicago.
