Satori Circus may well be Detroit’s most famous clown — outside of Insane Clown Posse, of course — and he’s been at it for nearly 30 years. Now, the performance artist is doing something new and he’s asking fans to come with an “open heart and head to witness a hybrid of performance art rarely seen in this Detroit metro area.”

Satori Circus: The Choir will reportedly feature a cast of the clown’s friends who will help him reinterpret original tunes as new arrangements. They’ll perform them live and a cappella inside the historical site of St. Albertus Church, a 145-year-old church located on St. Aubin Street in Detroit.

This one-night-only event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 26. Doors open at 8 p.m.; performance begins at 8:30 p.m.; 4231 St. Aubin St., Detroit; 313-831-9727; satoricircus.com; $15 suggested donation.
