It doesn’t get much fresher than 23-year old alt-rapper Aminé, whose quick tongue, clever rhymes, and wry sense of humor peg him as one to watch. Having released the single “Caroline” (which has gone triple platinum, NBD) a year ahead of his debut record Good for You (which dropped over the summer), Aminé’s youthful bravado is unmatched. With a penchant for diversely entertaining lyrics that corner pop culture references (from Tom Cruise’s Oprah couch moment to Miley Cyrus’ weed-smoking days to David Copperfield, Razr phones, and “Fruity Loops and Stanley Kubrick” ) Aminé’s rolodex of smile-inducing magic is as good as it gets.
