Atlas Genius

When: Thu., Sept. 24, 8 p.m. 2015

Australia’s Atlas Genius credit many nights at the local pubs performing songs by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones to pay the bills as the first step in finding their own sound. After the gigs, they would go home to experiment and write songs and eventually struck gold with single “Trojans,” which, with its hooky guitar riffs, infectious beat, and wistful vocals, singlehandedly landed them a record deal with Warner Bros. And while the boys seemed stunned by the swift trajectory of their success, their story is a small echo of their heroes Paul and Mick, who found their stride shortly after releasing covers by the great Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Muddy Waters.
