Belle Isle is truly the crown jewel of Detroit, but it costs money to keep the island park, as well as its buildings, in tip-top shape. That’s why the Belle Isle Conservancy hosts this super fancy fundraiser. Each year, the money it raises goes toward a different aspect of the aquarium or conservatory. This year, the lily pond and garden that exist between the two buildings will be the recipient of those donations. The event itself will feature cocktails and hors d’oeuvre, plus music by Ben Sharkey and art by Laurie Tennent Botanicals. “Smart casual attire” is advised. Runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; 900 Inselruhe Ave., Detroit; 313-821-5428; tickets range from $50-$500.
