If there is one thing stemming from Detroit’s bankruptcy, it’s that the city is supposed to be left with clean books, a chance to start anew. We appreciate our readers’ optimism, but we’ve yet to hear Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr offer an answer to the fundamental question in the bankruptcy process: What if Detroit doesn’t manage to attract new, middle-class residents? Would the city be able to stabilize itself in its restructured state? Stay tuned, kids.
