When: Sat., May 9, 8 p.m. 2015
Some bars are older, some bars are hipper, some bars are better stocked, but Tom’s Tavern has a charm about it. Founded in 1928, five years before Prohibition ended, it has survived fires, robberies, cars crashing into it, and more, and remains stubbornly implanted along Seven Mile Road. That’s because it draws a great crowd, lately enlarged by the Detroit Pleasure Society, which hosts this evening to bring dear old Mom out for a night of live Dixieland and Cajun food. Free admission; cash only at bar.
