When: Fri., May 29, 7 p.m. 2015
Fans of Detroit’s hardcore explosion of the early 1980s are familiar with the story of how a bunch of kids from suburban Detroit and Toledo created a mini-scene that echoed around the world, creating such seminal bands as Negative Approach and the Necros. But a few alums of that scene have gone on to become artists, and this new show displays some of their recent artwork. The artists include Matt O’Brien, Chris Moore, and Greg Bokor, and this show is a reunion of sorts, as well as a rare opportunity to hear that heady scene discussed by those who lived through it. Show will be up through June 20. Opening and artists’ talk at 7 p.m.; DJ at 8 p.m.
