Canned Voas

News Hits is grieved to report that Jeremy Voas is no longer editor of this paper. The veteran journalist was fired last week after nearly three years at Metro Times.

Anyone who has worked with him can attest to the fact that Voas is mercurial, headstrong, fiercely independent and by nature inclined to rebel when confronting authority. Along with making him a royal pain in the ass for anyone trying to issue him orders, those same qualities help make Voas the unparalleled editor that he is. He commanded the respect of the entire editorial department by providing fearless leadership, and by making everyone around him better at what they do. He is a brilliant, uncompromisingly ethical, and truly great alternative journalist.

He will be missed.
