When: Tue., April 18, 6 p.m. 2017
City of Champions Day is an official holiday in Detroit. Never heard of it? It was established back in 1936 when the Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings all won their first championship in the same year and the Detroit Historical Museum, does its best to observe this special day every year. This April 18, the museum will host several authors, each of whom will give a short presentation about how Detroit sports were forever changed during that fateful year. The museum will also be exhibiting historical sports memorabilia that is not usually on display, and soon-to-open Eastern Market Brewing Co. will be donating beverages.
