CONTAGIOUS CURIOSITY features paintings, drawings and photographs by Todd Burroughs with students and instructors from Metro Detroit. Each work reveals classical techniques developed in European ateliers during the 18th Century by artists such as Sir Henry Raeburn, Charles Bargue and John Singer Sargent. Burroughs studied at Columbia College, the Atelier Alternative and Eastern Michigan University. Burroughs currently teaches classical painting and drawing at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and the College for Creative Studies. Burroughs writes, “One of the things I love about teaching is that it creates an environment of intellectual curiosity that is contagious."
