DCDS Dance Showcase

When: Fri., April 22, 7 p.m. 2016

Detroit Country Day School presents their first major dance concert featuring Middle and Upper School students. The concert features dance works by professional guest choreographers and concludes with a new dance work, choreographed by resident dance educator Alexis Collins using the ground-breaking Appalachian Spring Suite, which was composed by Aaron Copland as a commission for the Martha Graham Dance Company. The collaborative efforts of the Upper School Repertory Dance Ensemble and Honors Symphonic Orchestra, along with scenic and lighting elements by resident faculty designer Jim Davis will bring new perspective to this American classic.
