Detroit Public Theatre returns with a production of THURGOOD by George Stevens Jr. in New Center Park

THURGOOD is a compelling portrait of the first African-American justice to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. THURGOOD guides us from Justice Marshall’s childhood in Baltimore, to his central role in the civil rights movement, to his historic victory in Brown vs. Board of Education, and, ultimately, to his appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. Introducing us to the people that influenced him along the way, THURGOOD is a one-man show about a true American hero and the pursuit of a more perfect union.
