When: Sun., March 15, 12 p.m. 2015
Sure, it’s a grand celebration of Irish culture, and, yes, you’ll see proud Irish marching and wearing the green. But it’s also an occasion for people of all faiths and races to cram into the bars and restaurants along the avenue to begin drinking at 10 a.m. Venture into the alleys on the north side of the avenue and you’ll find nonstop tailgating, robust, open-air drinking, unconcealed public urination, and dazed drunkenness. Those looking for good, clean, family-oriented fun had best stick close to the marchers; those looking for a bombed-out good time won’t have to look far. The parade will march west along Michigan Avenue between Sixth and 14th street.
