Live/Concert

Downtown Boys

When: Sun., July 10, 12 p.m. 2016

A Detroit performance has been a long time coming for Providence’s Downtown Boys, who describe themselves as a “bi bilingual political dance sax punk party” and who Rolling Stone named as “America’s most exciting punk band.” With lyrics in Spanish and English, the group says it aims to combat “the prison-industrial complex, racism, queerphobia, capitalism, fascism, boredom, and all things people use to try to close our minds, eyes and hearts.” We need them now more than ever. It’s fitting that this special matinee performance is presented by local feminist group Seraphine Collective.

Price: $10
