When: Sat., June 17, 6-8 p.m. 2017
@ David Klein Gallery Detroit, 1520 Washington Blvd. Detroit, MI 48226
An exhibition of work from artist Beverly Buchanan (1940-2015) will open to the public in Detroit for the first time since her death. Buchanan was a radical black, female artist who investigated the implications of gender, race, and identity through the rejection of dismissive categorizations inspired by identitarian politics. This timely exhibition will feature Buchanan’s iconic sculptures and works on paper.
