Rediscover how whole foods can nourish and heal the human body, mind, and spirit in this dynamic presentation and discussion by herbalist Joey Landis and mycologist Mara Fae Penfil. Topics to be covered include defining modern herbalism, exploring nutrition and the nervous system, buying quality foods on a budget, and more. As well, we will identify some of the specific medicinal properties of common plants and mushrooms. After the lecture, we will continue the discussion while enjoying a delicious meal -- prepared by Detroit foods activist, Kevin Hood -- that reflects the concepts shared in the presentations.
