That's the average distance that people in the developing world walk for water, which is often contaminated with life-threatening diseases. Participants can register on the Detroit registration website & will receive: t-shirt, race bib, medal. The registration fee, which goes towards World Vision's Water Initiatives, is $50 for adults and $25 for children 15 & under. Participants can join the Jerrycan Challenge ($75), where they carry a full jerrycan of water through the 6k course. More info on World Vision's website.
