Horoscopes (July 30 — August 5)

Your weekly readings.

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 20):

The people in charge keep messing with your head, and you can’t figure out what you did to deserve this. Those of you who understand the Laws of Karma may be having an easier time being accountable for all of this but, nevertheless, enough is enough. Hard aspects from Jupiter and Mars have shown you how out of sync you are with the status quo. On top of all of that, Uranus has been throwing lightning bolts into everything you try to cook up. At this point it’s about being able to roll with the punches without having to resort to punching somebody out!

Taurus (Apr. 21-May 20):

You can’t be too careful when it comes to being sure you’re on the right track. Many of you have gotten carried away by things that are totally illusory. When your perspective gets warped, and you don’t have the discernment to see that you’ve gone totally off the rails, or, it feels too good to say ‘No’ to people and things that aren’t doing you any good, it’s time to retrace your steps and find some semblance of integrity. Those of you who have it will have no problem restoring this situation to balance. Those of you who don’t will be in deep doo-doo before the month is out.

Gemini (May 21-June 20):

Playing both ends to the middle is your middle name. Hey, it’s great to be so dexterous, and it all works fine until the Cat’s Cradle gets tangled up in the stories you create to justify anything. Being honest enough to tell the difference between what’s true and the way you decide to word things is a focal issue in your life right now. What goes around comes around; wake up! Caught between your own agenda and what’s really going on, many of you are having a hard time facing the fact that any setbacks have a lot to do with that fact that you could be bullshitting yourself.

Cancer (June 21-July 20):

Other people and their nonsense is making you wonder why you always make an effort to be 100 percent there for them. It doesn’t matter where you are; at work, at home — either way, it’s always your turn to be present and accounted for. I don’t know how long it will be before the coffee wakes you up, but the straw and the camel’s back are about ready to crack. With more than enough to make you wish you had a life of your own, the main question would be: What keeps you from going for it? That issue will soon be settled. Trust me; it’s right on top of the stack.

Leo (July 21-Aug. 20):

Your  relationship scenario is better than any soap opera I’ve ever seen. God knows if it’s up or down, but you guys are in the thick of a drama that is serving more than one agenda. In situations like this, it’s all good if everyone’s there for the right reasons. I don’t know what’s up with the characters who are part of your drama, but you can bet one or two of them are not working with the same deck. God knows how all of this will play out. Stay abreast of the plot and keep your own agenda clear of any issues that might cause you to fall short, or, step out of integrity.

Virgo (Aug. 21-Sept. 20):

You’re at sixes-and-sevens with stuff that always seems to screw you up. It’s your “whim of iron,” or your tendency to over-think every blessed thing, or your god-awful perfect pictures that take you away from all the things that make this life so beautiful. Getting over ourselves often requires more than a quick fix. You could use a good laugh, or maybe something so out of the ordinary that it opens your eyes to the ways in which you’ve become too engirdled by your idiosyncrasies. Stepping out of the box could mean anything. Don’t hesitate to lighten up!

Libra (Sept. 21-Oct. 20):

You guys are up and down. It’s tough to predict for a wide range of issues when it comes to your sign. You’re getting hit with the good, the bad, and the gnarly. It seems like there’s a reprieve that’s about to arrive hand in hand with an opportunity to heal old wounds, or ailments that have been hanging you up longer than usual. There could be good work opportunities that arrive with a benefit package of one sort or another. The right people appear to be there for you — and everything hinges on your willingness to stay joyful, and move or change at the drop of a hat.

Scorpio (Oct. 21-Nov. 20):

High levels of third-party interference, along with a lot of pie-in-the-sky deals that never seem to turn into anything concrete, are making you wonder why you’re even involved in this situation. What made so much sense and seemed so clear is now looking like it could turn into a train wreck, and you have no clue where to go with it. At times like this, there’s no way to rely on anything but the signals that come from within and get as real as you can about what’s going on with the rest of it. Stay in the moment and be mindful where you place the benefit of the doubt.

Sagittarius (Nov. 21-Dec. 20):

Maybe you need to back up and check out some of the stuff you overlooked while you were busy getting carried away. You guys have gone off half-cocked and are currently at the effect of what happens when too much too soon keeps us from seeing what really needed to be done. The idea that you could rise or fall, depending on the decisions that come down in the next few months, gives you the feeling that some of this is up to you. In some ways it is, but there’s a fine line between getting your fingers in the machinery and really knowing how to create from within.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 20):

The idea that you’re right about all of this competes with the feeling that you could easily be wrong. When your own sense of authority fails you, the need to seek guidance outside of yourself can lead you into situations that take you too far away from your core to know what is true for you. Lately, everyone has something to say about what you get to do and who you get to be. Reclaiming your sense of sovereignty will be a big part of the deal for the next few months. Don’t take any wooden nickels, and whatever you do, respect your right to do things your way.

Aquarius (Jan. 21-Feb. 20):

The last few weeks have rinsed out your brain. Sitting here, contemplating what lies ahead, you’re acutely aware of how the politics of living gets more complex as we age. As you approach a situation that’s bound to resemble scenarios that took place seven years ago, you’ll see that there’s a huge need to forgive and forget. If you’re less open to letting go of all the blood on the tracks, your sense of injustice and/or rage will keep you stuck in a place that increases your sense of alienation. There are only two choices here; it’s time to let go. Let’s hope you choose love.

Pisces (Feb. 21-Mar. 20):

It’s been so amazing, watching your life come back to a place that allows you to stretch out and be who you are. Lots of things are floating around —- for many of you the party atmosphere is so intoxicating, it has you thinking you’ve got it all figured out. We all know what it feels like to be on a high run. The sense that nothing can ever go wrong is so easy to believe. It’s like something clicks, and you’ve finally got the formula — or so it seems. You can keep this up and let the joy run  until the cold light of day wakes you up just in time to show you that ‘nothing gold can stay.’
