Iggy and the Stooges honor Ron Asheton in Ann Arbor

Iggy and the Stooges return to their old stomping grounds this spring to honor their late, great guitarist Ron Asheton.

The legendary punks, along with guitarist Deniz Tek, emcee Henry Rollins and other unannounced special guests, perform April 19 at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor in a gig celebrating the life and music of Asheton, who died of a heart attack in his Ann Arbor home in January 2009.

Tickets - $39.50 and $59.50 - are on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at, all Ticketmaster locations and by phone at 800-745-3000.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the Ron Asheton Foundation.
