When: Mon., Aug. 22, 8 p.m. 2016
Need a little folk and easy listening in your life after two weeks of the Olympics are finished? Look no further than the Texas-born singer Jay Brannan, whose latest album, 2014’s Always, Then, and Now, came out to critical acclaim with his rustic voice and poetic lyrics. If you have ever seen the John Cameron Mitchell movie Shortbus (and if you haven’t, do yourself a favor and do so) then you have not only seen Brennan in the movie, but heard his song “Soda Shop,” too. Doors at 8 p.m.; 316 S. Main St., Ann Arbor; theark.org; $20.
