Indie outfit Joywave could not be more appropriately named. The synth-pop and bass-heavy five-piece could be the less ambient, more erratic little brother of French pop band Phoenix. Nevertheless, Joywave feels lovingly like a band that will forever be on festival dockets. After their breakthrough collab with Big Data on their hit track “Dangerous” in 2013, Joywave earned some skin in the game. Following a tour with Young the Giant and Cold War Kids, Joywave is taking the wheel and will be dishing out tracks from their sophomore record, Content, released this past spring.
