When: Sat., June 16, 6:30 p.m. 2018

If you haven’t been keeping tabs on Detroit’s JR JR, you’re not alone. Formerly known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., the indie-pop duo fell off the map after they canceled the majority of their 2017 tour plans (including a doubleheader at El Club) due to illness. Though they plan to resume their tour full force sometime in 2019 (with some new tunes), the boys are making up for lost time by kicking off a free, three-part concert series at Beacon Park. Sure, it’s been three long years since their popular earworm “Gone” whistled its way into our hearts, but knowing JR JR, they’ve been busy — and we can’t wait to hear what’s next. Wild Belle opens.
