We don’t often think of youth as a marginalized group, but young people and their views are often shunted during conversations about current events and politics. This event, a poetry writing festival for local youth, aims to give minors a voice they might not otherwise be privy to. The four-day event includes an MC competition, an icebreaker and dialogue session, and youth workshops, and will culminate in a “Grand Slam” poetry slam competition.
