When: Wed., Nov. 15, 8 p.m. 2017
Cross Lucinda Williams with Sleater-Kinney and you’d get an idea of Lydia Loveless’ honky-tonk twist on pop. Confessionary with carefully placed outbursts of punk-y angst, there’s nothing tongue-in-cheek about Loveless — instead, she pours her heart and slams it with a shot, like a sonic boilermaker for bad bitches everywhere. And we say that lovingly. In a just world, this would be what mainstream country pop sounds like.
Doors open at 8 p.m.; 1 S. Saginaw, Pontiac; 248-858-9333; thecrofoot.com; Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 day of show.
