As part of Preservation Detroit’s Third Friday Lecture Series, Coleman will discuss his new work, Million Dollars Worth of Nerve: Twenty-One People Who Helped to Power Black Bottom, Paradise Valley and Detroit’s Lower East Side. The book tells the stories of several civic leaders of the city’s black neighborhoods from the 1930s to the 1950s. Coleman, a Detroit native, will speak and answer questions.
