MLK, Jr. Day: "Bring the Dream to Life"

When: Mon., Jan. 19, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. 2015

Presented in partnership with the Society’s Black Historic Sites Committee, this free event is a great way for families of all ethnic backgrounds to celebrate Dr. King’s life and legacy. There will be presentations from students on the importance of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the auditorium. An “open mic” poetry event from noon - 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Cupcakes and singing of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” at 2:30 p.m. followed by “We Shall Overcome.”
