Motor City Cribs

Singer-songwriter and new Decks guitarist Molly-Jean Schoen’s love of both London and Detroit has nearly all to do with music. It’s inner Beatlemania that led the 21-year-old to spend the last couple of summers in London, where she hopes to move one day.

And it was a couple of little bands from Detroit such as the Hard Lessons, the Sights and the Go that helped her fall in love with Detroit while she majored in English at Michigan State University.

Molly-Jean just moved into a new apartment in the D. “It’s good that I have a tiny closet,” she says, “I can’t own too many clothes.”

She’s starting her Master’s in Library Science at Wayne State University. Please let her know if you hear of any libraries in London hiring.
