New Fortune Fest 2

When: Sun., May 24, 2 p.m. 2015

Holidays present opportunities, from barbecues to music fests. Here we have the second New Fortune Fest, a great one-day, all-day sampling of Detroit’s independent artists, hosted by a label smart enough to cop from Detroit’s greatest indie label (Fortune). Sample-based hip-hop, chiming indie-rock, heartfelt folk-rock that doesn’t suck — there is a lot going on for this one day. Old Empire will be there with their charming new album How to Make an Entrance. Don’t miss them, Passalacqua, Mic Phelps, High Strung, and Doc Illingsworth.

Price: $10
