Nice warm head

by

There are many insulating options to prevent noggins from icing over ... chugging antifreeze, lighting a match to hairspray, saving hair conditioner and rubbing one skull against another into a static fury. But few efforts are safe and fashionable; now you’ve got one more reason to cap: Express your loyalty to the friendly fathers of musical necessity at Neptune Records in Royal Oak. The boys have taken their paternal nurturing role one step further — they are hoping you will preserve those fragile pink listening ears by keeping them covered in a cool-yo’ Neptune Records cap. For the second glorious season in a row, they’re selling playground-appropriate knit hats; complete with the accessory puffball of yarn atop. They are available in two-tone shades of light and darker green, lavender and purple, green and yellow, and a solid heather gray (pictured), and fold over at the brow displaying a thick-ribbed weave and a small Neptune Records logo patch. Off you go to frolic in the snow. All hats are $7 at Neptune Records, 503 N. Main St., Royal Oak. Call 248-586-0519 for more info (although it’s tough to imagine what more you’d need to know).
