Oakland University World Music Ensembles’ 40th Anniversary Concerts featuring Bernard Woma

Professor Emeritus Marvin Holladay established Oakland University’s world music Program in 1975. The inaugural fall concert featured a performance on the University’s new Ghanaian drums with master Ghanaian drummer Abraham Adzenyah, who also blessed the drums with a libation ceremony. The program at OU has continued to grow and flourish with the ensembles now directed by Mark Stone and Patrick Fitzgibbon. To celebrate theirn40th anniversary, this fall’s concerts will feature Bernard Woma, another master musician from Ghana.
