When: Fri., Sept. 8, 5 p.m. 2017
The beloved arcade pop-up known 'round these parts as Offworld Arcade is back, and this time things are permanent. They’re setting up shop on the second story of Checker Bar in a space that was formerly used for pop-up restaurants. They’ve formed a partnership with Pop Pizza, and once the whole thing is fully operational it will be the first official bar arcade in the city of Detroit. This opening night event will have tons of old-school arcade games (that’s the whole point, right?) that players will be able to use for dirt cheap. According to a Facebook event, all games are a quarter per play and pinball machines are two quarters per play or four quarters for three plays. There will also be a Bell’s tap takeover, live music, and a raffle giving away a classic console.
Starts at 5 p.m.; 124 Cadillac Sq., Detroit; 313-961-9249; free admission.
